NTSE 2016 Details:
For 10th Class
In two stages: 1 and 2
number of scholarship: 1000
Scholarship Amount: Rs 1250 (11th and 12th) , Rs 2000 (Undergraduates and Post graduates) , For PhD: To be fixed in accordance with UGC norms
Reservation: 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, 3% for PH
Selection: Stage 1 by state, stage 2 by NCERT
Qualifying marks: 40% for General category in each marks, 35% for SC, ST and PH
Langauge test: Qualifying in nature
Important Dates:
Eligibility: X studying students in any board. No domicile required.
STudents registered under Open School Learning are also eligible provided their age is less than 18 years as on 1st July. Also student is not employed.
Exam Pattern:
Stage 1: Will comprise of two papers: Paper 1(Mental Ability - MAT), Paper 2: Language , Paper 3 - Scholastic Aptitude Test - SAT
Stage 2: Paper 1 MAT (50 questions) , Paper 2 Language test (English/Hindi)(50 questions), Paper 3 SAT (100 questions)
1/3rd Negative marking in stage 2
Application Form: Contact the state , list of all state officers: click here
Application form should be signed by the school. Application should be send to respective state authorities.
Fee: Vary from state to state
No Fee for stage 2
Indian students staying abroad: Appear directly in stage 2. Last date to submit the form: 28th Feb 2016. Application form would be uploaded in october 2015 on NCERT website. Announcements for such students would be done separately.
